Once upon a time. . .
…there was an English teacher called Claire who fell in love with flowers.
Aurora Nyx Floral Design was born in the glorious Gloucestershire countryside. After thirteen years of teaching English, my love of flowers and my desire to use my creativity to tell stories in a different way, led to me retraining as a florist at Moreton Morrell College.
From there I worked as a freelance florist at a range of weddings and events across the Cotswolds and Oxfordshire, finding endless inspiration in the way flowers can transform a space into something that feels touched by magic. I’m grateful to the talented florists I worked with and the experiences that gave me the knowledge and confidence to set up my own independent studio in 2022.
Storytelling is at the heart of everything I do and I care passionately about creating high quality floral designs that will tell your personal story and reflect your individuality and style. Using seasonal flowers and foliage from amazing local growers and other trusted suppliers, I use my creativity and artistry to create beautiful florals that will become part of your treasured, life-long memories and stories that you share with your family and friends.
Whether you desire a classically elegant fable, a wildly romantic folklore or a charmingly, gorgeous happily ever after, I can’t wait to meet you and start planning your own floral tale.
Why Aurora Nyx?
“What’s in a name? That which we call a rose by any other name would smell just as sweet.”
Inspired by the celestial beauty of Aurora, the Roman Goddess of Dawn, and the enigmatic allure of Nyx, the Greek Goddess of Night, Aurora Nyx Floral Design is dedicated to crafting captivating and stylish seasonal floral designs. I understand that each event is a unique narrative waiting to be told, and I work tirelessly in close collaboration with my couples and clients to bring your vision to life.
Rather than impose a set signature or style on your event, I take my cues from you and the story you want to tell. Whether soft, pretty pastels, sultry and sculptural glamour, or something in between, I’m dedicated to creating a totally bespoke palette of colours, flowers, textures and designs that will become woven into your treasured memories.
When I’m not in the studio, I can be found hanging out with my fiancé Mike and our pug Buddy…pottering in the garden…curled up with my nose in a book…or socialising with family and friends and enjoying a glass of wine and good food.
Baking is another passion and although my bread skills mean I will never get a Hollywood handshake or be a star baker, I can whip up a very moreish batch of chocolate cupcakes.
I also love heading up to London to attend new exhibitions – particularly ones relating to fashion, jewellery and design.
I’m always listening to podcasts (The Labours of Hercule is a current favourite!) and music… I have a road-trip across the USA to thank for my love of country music; Kylie Minogue, Stevie Nicks, Nothing But Thieves and lots of 90s tunes are also heavily featured on my eclectic playlists.
“The flowers were INCREDIBLE! Thank you so much! Everyone commented on them – they were really stunning.”
